Upon closer inspection I see the reference number starts with a "B" indicating two tone and it has the gold crown and pushers. But it also has a gold bezel which I believe would have steel pushers and a "D" reference.

Does this mean I have a "FrankenWatch"?

Thank you,

****UPDATE****

Here are a couple photos of my first pre-owned Breitling acquisition. It fills a nice hole in my collection. Personally, I like the gold pushers and crown with the gold bezel and have often wondered why they don't combine as 1 package from the factory. I plan to take it to my local AD immediately for service since it has been unused for over 10 years - supposedly.

Thanks again for all the advice - I have learned alot from this transaction, plus I have now filled my four position watch winder much to my wife's dismay.

Calling it a Frankenwatch may be a little strong if it's just the bezel that's been swapped, as that's quite a common swap on some of these older models, but yes you are correct that the gold bezel with steel pushes is a "D" ref, whereas gold riders and pushers is a "B" ref. So it's not 100% original.

Post us up some pictures if you can.

Being only a bezel, it's simple to restore it to original condition - hardest part is going to be getting the bezel and worst case scenario there is ordering from Breitling.
