I am looking at a pre-owned Chronomat that supposedly has never been used since about 1999. Does being idle for that long pose any issues with the performance of the watch.

Oil brake down.

:yeahthat As tempting as it might be to just get it started, you could end up facing a bigger bill if you do, compared to if you just send it in straight away for a service.

Definitely must have a service, there is no usable oil left in that movement.

Seems like it would be important to know if someone already tried to run it after an extended idle period.
