So I picked up a Navitimer second hand, verified at Breitling NY - No mechanical problems or anything - however there is what looks like a very fine scratch between the 10 and 11 markers - is there anyway this could have happened with the case supposedly never being opened aside from at the Breitling store? This mark or whatever has me going nuts!! Is this something when the watch is sent in for service that they would be to address? Thanks guys |

If the dial is scratched then it will need ot be replaced, and yes that can be done during servicing, but obviously there will be a cost. It can't have occurred normally, either it was scratched while being worked on - setting or removing the hands for example, or (less likely) a hand has come off at some point and damaged the dial. |

Breitling will charge you a pretty penny to get the dial replaced with a new one, as when they do, they also need to do a full service on the watch. Total cost will be over $1000 in my estimation (new dial plus the full service. If the scratch bothers you a lot as you say, you might do better just selling the watch and picking up another Navi without any dial imperfection. |

Thanks for the input, when the watch does go in for service how do you notify breitling of a certain issue you would like addressed? Do you speak to a rep while it's at the center? |

It depends on where you are, but I would mention it in writing when I send the watch. In the US BUSAprovides an estimate of the work and that should include the dial. |

If you mail it in, you can just write down what the problem is that you want addressed. I happened to live in NY, so I just drove to BUSA in CT and brought the watch into the service center in person to speak to a technician. They took my watch in and in a few weeks overnighted the watch back to me. |
