Hey guys Its good to be back in the best forum for Breitling owners agian. I keep my Navitimer in a winding machine which automatically turns for 30 seconds and stops for 12 minutes but everytime in 2 to 3 days i always find my Navi stops. Does anyone face the same problem Is it ok to wind the Navi every 3 days even though it stays in a winder How do you actually wind Breitling, is it by turning the crown while it is press againts the case Can't wait to hear from you guys. Thank you very much.

The automatic winder is designed to keep a watch wound, not to actually wind it. What that means is that you should manually wind the watch about 35 times, so it's fully wound, before putting it on the winder which will then maintain the power. The watch is manually wound with the crown in the first position. If you don't have a screw down crown, this will be indeed when the crown is flush with the case. If you do have a crown that screws down then you can just start winding in the first position it pops into after unscrewing it.

Hi Vanessa, I did wind 20 to 25 times before putting in the winding machine but it still stops between 2 to 3 days time. My Navi is not a screw down crown. Thank you so much

Do i need to wind it manually every 3 days for probably 35 rounds even if i keep it in the winding machine? I thought the winding machine keeps it alive? Thank you

I think it very much depends on the winder you have and how the winder works. I wear my watches on Underwood winders and have never had a problem. The winders turn both directions, with a rotation of 6 hours per day (per direction). For some reason, Underwood states that the watch SHOULDN'T be fully wound when attached to the winder. When I first put them there I wound them approx. 75% and they've been running and on time since then.

Check the watchwinder direction - if your winder is winding counterclockwise, but your movement requires clockwise then you might as well not have the watch on the winder. This site has watchwinder direction on the model pages and I believe that one of the winder manufacturer websites has a complete list (but I can't remember which one - sorry).

Orbita's site has a complete list. Depending on which Navi you have, it may or may not wind in both directions.. so find out, and then check to make sure your winder is giving sufficient charge.

Its also possible that the auto winding mechanism is not functioning correctly. Have you tried wearing it continuously for a few days to see if it still dies while on your wrist?
