Im a new owner of a Breitling Avenger. It's been on my wrist since I bought it a few weeks ago. I'm leaving for a couple of months overseas and don't want to bring my watch. I don't have a watch winder so I'd like to know if there's anything special I need to know about storing it (on its side vs. upright etc.) and also setting the time and date when I return. I know I shouldn't set the date between the hours of 8PM and 3AM but any more advice would definately make me feel better about leaving it. Thanks-Tim |

No issues with leaving it - safest is probalby back in the box. Best way to set it is to make sure that the time is between 3 and 8 (i.e. no chance of it being in the danger zone) and then use the quick set date to the day before the current date. Then wind the hands forward to the correct date and time (that ensures that the am / pm is correct) and give it a full wind of 40 turns. |

Thanks for the quick response. I've heard that laying it on its side is proffered. Have you heard of anything like that? Also, should I just let the watch wind down or should I pull out the crown so it stops? |

Just let the watch wind down. It doesn't matter in which position the watch is when it is not running. Generally, putting the watch on the side is done when it is running faster and putting it face up when it is running slower. |
