Hi everyone, I haven't posted here very often lately, but I do read thru the threads fairly often. Anyway tonight I did something stupid - I accidentally dropped my 1 1/2 year old Steelfish about 2 feet onto a rug that sits atop a hard wood floor. Nothing appears to be wrong with it....It sounds fine....nothing looks to have been knocked loose. I am going to watch the time over the next few days to make sure the fall didn't affect it's accuracy. So do I have anything to worry about? Can these watches survive falls like this? Anything I should be looking out for? Thanks Mike |

boeckelr wrote: Can these watches survive falls like this? Anything I should be looking out for? Thanks Mike They almost always do survive such falls. If it is running fine you have nothing to worry about so long as the timing is ok. Geez, most of us had had much worse drops than 2 feet onto a rug. |

As Tom says it's likely Ok, just keep an eye on it for the next month - if there is damage to the date it could take that long to appear. |

I reckon a Steelfish should be able to cope with that little drop............fingers crossed. |

Steelfish = almost bullet proof. Mine seems solid enough to enact the anti-theft device without harming the watch itself! R/ |

Thanks for all of the replies. I feel a lot better now! It's been the watch I wear most since I bought it - and while I have accidentally bumped it pretty hard a few times - for some reason this drop worried me more. Anyway, It has been keeping time as well as it did before I dropped it....the date has changed a few times but I'll keep watching that for the next month since Roff (i think) said date problems might not manifest themselves right away. You will be fine. Daily activity brings harder knocks than that. For example, clapping vigorously will excert more forces on the watch than a two ft drop on carpet I would think. |
