I have a Super avenger that recently started making a clanking sound. When I removed the back I found that the rotor was in two pieces. The weight was separated from actual rotor. Is this common? I didn't realize the rotor was two separate pieces. How do these pieces stay together? I am assuming some kind of glue but not sure. Any advice would be appreciated. I will be taking it to my jeweler but wanted to be able to talk with knowledge when I bring it in.

Thanks,

Not common, never heard of it before.

Sounds like a parts failure and should be an easy fix.

Also, maybe don't mention that you took the caseback off...

If you still have a warranty, that bit of information will surely void any possibility of Breitling covering the repair costs.

Regretfully the watch is no longer under warranty as it is around 5 years old. I have noticed some other watch rotors with a similiar appearance that are two pieces. Mine was grooved so the weight fits into the centered rotor piece & assumed to be glued together. Hopefully a quick fix.
