I'm not even sure the name of the part, not the bezel, but the ring of metal that the crystal face is actually seated in is scratched badly and needs to be replaced. What is this part, how do I get a replacement, and how do I replace? Answer any or all of these questions. Thanks!

This part of the watch is called the 'chimney' and as far as I am aware is an integral part of the case so replacement may mean a new case. How deep is the scratch? It may be possible for a good jeweller/watchmaker to polish out the worst of the scratching but if it is deeply scored then you may have to live with the damage. Unfortunately, it may not be a diy job simply because it is all too easy to damage the crystal making things even worse!

It is the chimney, and it is integral to the case - it can't be replaced without replacing the entire middle case.

Here is a picture of the damage. Notice the deep scuffs on the chimney and on the bezel. Suggestions on how best to repair these dummy marks???

That part on Breitling's usually show the most wear for some reason...it must be pretty fragile. Your best bet is getting a GOOD watch maker to disassemble the case and try his best to buff it out. Judging from the photos, it'll still be there, but less noticeable. Just make sure you don't take it to some hack who try's to buff it without disasembling the watch, as he can damage the crystal.

Honestly, your best bet it so embrace the scratches and wait until it's time for a Breitling service and have it taken care of then.
