Post subject: | Lost Compass Point on Aerospace Titanium |
Glad I found this forum, please help if you can: I have an Aerospace Titanium, new style, purchased from WorldofWatches in 1999. One of the compass points somehow got unscrewed and lost. Sent the watch through my local AD to Breitling, but of course NO SERIAL NUMBER. B is saying they wont fix it. Any advice on who could fix this? It is really annoying every time I look at it. Thanks! |

I'm not sure why Breitling won't touch it just because the serial has been polished off. That would definitely void the Breitling warranty, but this isn't a warranty issue on a 9 year old watch. You may be able to find rider tabs on the 'bay, otherwise, not sure if the AD / Breitling won't help. I'd certainly ask for more details from Breitling - it sounds as though they doubt that it's real. Incidentally, you say compass points, but aren't they minute markers rather than compass degrees on the Aerospace?? |

Thanks for the advice. Sorry I dont know the right terminology. The part in question is the little "S" that screws into the bezel. Dont have the watch (still at B) so I cant post photos. When I do get it back I'll post photos - if this is a fake its the best the world has ever seen, and I doubt that anyone was faking that good 9 years ago. |

I'm still confused. I am no expert on the Professional range, but this is a 99 era Aerospace - http://www.breitlingsource.com/watch_de ... al_24.html This (and all other Aerospace models) have the minutes on the bezel, not the compass points. |

Only one that comes to mind is the Duograph but I'm sure there are others with N S E W rider tabs. http://www.breitlingsource.com/watch_de ... r_113.html But as Roff says - no Aerospace models. Full description needed before anyone can help to source any spares. |

Sorry for the confusion - I believe you are correct and that the tab that is missing is the "30". I have 20+ watches in my collection (none as expensive as the Aerospace) and looking at the photo of the Aerospace with the "slanted" numbers that is my watch. I apologize for everyone's wasted time trying to figure this out. I will post photos when the watch is back from B. |

No need to apologize.. you are missing the '30' rider tab then? Hmm.. i wonder if it would be hard to find a service center with a parts account and just have them order one in for you... Actually if you click on this link again and look at the second photo.. it has the slanted numbers: http://www.breitlingsource.com/watch_de ... al_24.html |
