Post subject: | Wife's Oceane date window |
Hi guys, Mrs KMG has an Oceane and I have just noticed these past few days that the date sometimes seems to stop part way through the change over. This hasn't happened during normal wear but rather when I have corrected the time for her but not known which 12 hours in 24 the watch was. So I have whizzed the hands round until the date changed but it (the date in the window) stopped half way. I then corrected it with the date change instead of rotating the hands. As I said, this hasn't occurred during normal wear. Do you think that this is something to be concerned about? Thanks in advance. ![]() |

My wife's Oceane had exactly the same problem, it always got stuck on the same date each month. Sent it for a service and it's been fine ever since. |

Sounds like a bent tooth in the date change mechanism, won't go away without servicing. |

We took her watch in to our local AD (Lister Horsfalls in Halifax) on Mon 20 Feb 2011. They have an in-house watch specialist who used to work at BUK. He is going to take a look at it and see if he is able to do the batt change and repair. If not, it will be off to BUK. I will update when I have some more information. ![]() |

Lister Horsfall's phoned today with the quote for the work needed on Mrs KMG's Oceane. For the repair - £60. For the repair and polish up - £120. I am going to suggest to her that she goes for the £120 as the watch does look like it's been dragged up from the bottom of a river ![]() ![]() |

We went into Lister Horsfall's in Halifax today. The £60 is for the service which includes the repair and battery replacement. The £120 is for the above plus renovation of the strap and head. She is going to go for the £120. Bearing in mind that they have had the watch already for 2 weeks to come up with the quote, we were told that the service and tidy up will take a further 6 weeks. That didn't impress me much - it would have been as quick (if not quicker) to send it back to BUK ![]() |
