I bought a very good condition Old Navi II which is what I’ve always wanted. My current Breitling is a Chronoocean so the Navi will be my first automatic.

My question is what is normal re the length of time between windings. I only wear the watch in daytime (8am to 5pm) Mon to Friday and normally not at night or weekends. How long should a winding last? I’ve done some experimenting by using 70 half turns (which is what I’ve read is what is recommended) which lasts about 36 hours if the watch is not worn at all. If I wear the watch between 8am and 5pm on a daily basis I get about 72 hours of running time between those 70 half turns. Is this normal? It just had a major service by Breitling so I assume all was fine (received the replaced gaskets back and one small gear which they replaced).

If the above is normal and given my normal wearing pattern should I then just wind it every other day and daily over weekends when not in use?

Thanks

power reserve should be around 40 hours, so you are pretty close.
wind it whenever you feel like it and enjoy your new classic, no need to worry about this !

8 to 5 wear may be enough to provide 24 hours worth of reserve - it really depends on how active you are during that period, but no danger of overwinding an automatic so winding during the week won't hurt.

As you suggest daily winding on the weekend will keep it going - standard is 40 turns (hand movements) for a full wind and 30 for a daily 'maintenance wind'.
