Hi guys,

As you can see from my signature, I have the pleasure of owning the 50th Anniversary Navi on bracelet and black dial which I absolutely adore. Just a question regarding the cleaning of this - As you all i'm sure are well aware this Navi is brushed steel. What is a good method of cleaning this watch? Materials to use etc?? The reason I ask is I know the Navi isn't exactly a deep-sea in regards to water-restistance and I don't want to mess up the brushed steel effect either. I've heard alot of you mention cape cod cloths but I understand these are not suitable for the brushed steel finish.

Most grateful for any advice,

Kind Regards,

Ken

You're right that Navi's aren't deep sea. I'd never even clean my Legende with excess amounts of water. I stick to using water moistened cotton swabs and a synthetic leather cloth. If I don't succeed with that I ask my AD for a cleaning and pick it up the next day - free of charge. :)

+1

Never submerge the Navitimer.

A simple damp cloth works fine, along with a follow up polish on non-brushed surfaces (Cape Cod cloth, etc). The brushed look can be maintained using a very fine grit nail file to remove surface blemishes and to restore that brused look. If I owned a watch on a strap, I would use a saddle soap, or leather treatment to care for them.
