I seem to be finding conflicting information on this issue and would be grateful for some confirmation from the experts please :)
The bezel outriders (if that's what they're called) and the two gold bands on the bracelet on the TT evolution (and other models) appear to be gold. Are they solid gold or are they gold-plated?
Many thanks.

From what others say...It's a steel center...covered in a deep luscious coating of gold.
Not plate...A deep rich layer...Like a chocolate coated cherry.
That help?

The rider tabs (on the bezel) are 18k gold.

The pushers, crown and bracelet links are rolled gold which is a sheet of gold laminated to a steel base. The gold is 20 microns thick and you can see what that looks like by looking at one of the bracelet links side on.

In the last couple of years Breitling has been using thicker gold for the crown and are now calling them gold, but in truth they are still laminated over a steel core.

Thanks Twotone540 and Roffensian. I suspected as much.
I was thinking about buying a TT Evolution brand new from an AD for the very reasonable price of £4400.
However, I may be going over to the dark side after seeing a used TT Yacht-Master for slightly less money (and real gold :-) ).
