I am a new member of the forum and recently purchased my second Breitling (Chronomat B01/White Face/Two Tome Bezel and Roman Face). I purchased slightly used with all matching paperwork, but the warranty card is not filled out at all. The AD name and country is punched and the Ref and Serial No. are printed. No Retailer stamp/date of purchase or signature. I also have the warranty registration kit which includes the envelope to send to Breitling. Even though this all came with watch, should I assume the Breitling corporate has this model registered? I have read some previous posting which suggest that if the warranty is not filled out, you should contact them and they should have the sale on record. Do you recommend I contact Breitling in this case or contact the AD that is printed in the booklet? Thanks for any help with this. Regards, |

Forgot to mention that I am located in NY and went to the Breitling flagship on 57th today to get it sized. Woman immediately took out my warranty book and said that they technically were not allowed to do anything without it filled in. Claimed she was doing me a favor and then sized the watch for me. The store is amazing and i would suggest any serious enthusiast who travel to NY to make sure to stop by. |

It used to be common to leave papers 'open'. Theory was that ADs were doing buyers a favour if the watch had a problem just over 2 years after purchase. Recently Breitling, and BUSA in particular have been clamping down on it because of the potential for extending the warranty. It's likely not a huge issue, but as you likely don't have the original receipt (given that you are second owner) it would be helpful to know when the warranty really expires. If it ever becomes an issue the original AD should be able to confirm when the watch was sold. |

Great - thanks for the quick response. Hopefully will not have any issues over the next 24 months. I will contact the AD if I have any problems. |

So I called the AD today because i think their is a problem with the rotar on the movement. If i leave the watch for a couple of days and let the power reserve wind down, the only way i can get the second hand moving again is by manual winding the crown. If i rotate the watch to the right or left, the watch does not start. The AD told me that i needed the persons name who purchased the watch in order to get the date of purchase. I explained to them that I don't have because the watch was purchased second hand and the warranty booklet was not filled out by your salesperson. They told me the manager is going to call me back.... Anyone have any other recommendations in this situation? Should i just call breitling USA in conn and see if they have the serial registered? Thanks for your help. |

Well I'm not sure that I see a problem here. A couple of swings of the rotor is not going to be enough to give the watch any reserve so not surprised at all that you have to wind it to get it started. In terms of serial number, BUSA should be able to tell you if / when it was registered, but the AD is likely going to get that anyway. |
