Hi All,
I have a 2008 Breitling Airwolf - Blue Sunburst dial - steel bracelet
Anyway my son dropped it onto a wooden floor and the movement got damaged so its currently with Breitling who will put in a new movement , new bezel ( dont know why they want this as the old one was fine) service it and polish it up like new.
Total bill so far approaching £1300 Stg. :guns:

I would like to know what a completely refurbished watch like this is worth as this might be a sign that I should
(A) Get a Black Bird (2nd hand)
(B) Never allow my son hold a Breitling again until he gets his own.

I chose the airwolf over the black bird originally as this for me is an everyday watch so it has to be able to stand up to all the abuses life can throw at it and I thought the quartz might be more durable in that respect, I also didnt like the idea of setting the date nearly every month .

I have mellowed somewhat regarding setting the date but I'd like to know what you guys think about a blackbird as an everyday watch.
Comments appreciated.

In terms of what your Airwofl would be worth, then the standard advice applies - check out completed listings on eBay and look for the green prices as they are items that actuallly sold as opposed to the red ones that didn't. That gives an indication of what people are prepared to pay. Also check out current "live" listings and Chrono24.com to see what people are offering similar watches for.

To be honest all Breitling watches are perfectly decent daily wearers, even Navis provided you don't go swimming or showering with them on. With that in mind the BB is eminently capable of being worn daily as it's nicely built and also has a decent WR rating. There are plenty of very satisfied owners on here.

Other than the 5 times a year when you need to change the date because there aren't 31 days in the month.

I've got a BB and would be perfectly happy with it as a daily wearer. At 43mm it's not as bulky as the Super Avenger. It goes with both suit and casual. I think the brushed BB would also take a fair amount of abuse.
