I have been looking to buy my first Breitling for about 60 days and have looked everywhere; pawn shops, local stores, Vegas and on E-bay of course. I finally found a watch I like. But being new to all this, I do have some questions that I hope you guys can help me with in determining a fair price. I see that these 6, 9, 12 watches could have been made anywhere from early 90's to 2003. It has the date at 3:00 and the automatic in small print in the 6:00 sub-dial. First off, the watch appears to be perfect, to me it looks virtually unworn. It has a steel grey/blue face with white sub-dials, gold bezel, gold hands, gold arabic lettering and two tone gld/ss bracelet. I guess some of my questions are: Are watches with unique dials..ie..not blue, black and white worth any more? Are two tone watches worth more than just silver, leather or exotic watch band material? Are Roman or Arabic numerials worth anymore than dashes I see on most Breitling watches? Hopefully you get the idea of what I need to learn. The store, which carries about 20 different makers of high end watches, but not Breitlings, this is obviouslly pre-owned had it priced at $3,995, but after some barter it I feel like it could be had for $3,000. I need some input from people that know. |

Most of those factors won't impact price at all. The Navitimer bracelet is going to be worth more than croc which in turn will be more than calf. The two tone bracelet will be more than the regular one. The biggest impact on price for a piece of this age will be the service history. The watch should be serviced every 5 - 7 yeasrs so should have had at least one and likely two services by now. How about a price range ?? I'm not sure if this is worth $2,000 or $4,000. I have spent two days on the internet trying to find a used buyers guide type website with how to rate condition and what stuff is worth. Help, please...... |

I'd suggest you look at ebay, chrono24, buy/sell here and watchuseek to get a grasp of the market. A little bit of time and you'll be able to ID the model, approx. age, and selling prices. |

I would strongly recommend that whatever watch you look to buy, post the pics in the Replica section for us to have a look at. Paying slightly under/over the market price is one thing. Paying genuine Navi money for a fake is another! You could place a WTB ad in the Buy/Sell section and see what the members here have to offer. |

Attachment: Breitling.jpg Here's a picture that was taken off of their website. I have seen the watch in person and tomorrow I'm going to go by there with a jewelers loop to take a good careful look. It was last Saturday, when I found it and if I remember correctly it was perfect. Not a scratch, mark or swirl anywhere. I'm kinda wondering about the bracelet; it's not the 7 row I see more of, on-line. |

Watch is real and bracelet is fine, Navitimers used pilot bracelets before the navitimer bracelet was introduced. |

Hey that's great ! What year did the bracelet change ? That would pretty much date the watch at that point. Any thoughts on $3,000, if I can get it for that. I have not even asked them, yet, about ppw, boxes and service history. Thanks again, |

OK, just got the number 0n the back of the watch it's: D13022 and also has 5936 stamped in it too- From another website I see that D is Stainless and Gold, the #13 is movement type 13 (Valjoux 7750), the zero means non-COSC movement (how important is this, if at all) and the last two numbers "22" I'm struggling with. Also, any idea on the 5936 stamp. I'm heading there shortly to check out the watch again. They said the original retail was $8,900 and while I thought they were going to be around $3,000, it now looks like $3,500 or even a few hundred higher. |
