Hello Everyone,

I've been an avid fan of Breitlings and decided to go with a used Breitling Crosswind SS Chronograph with Big Date on Black Breitling Alligator Strap with Deployment Clasp. The watch has been great for a couple of months until last week when I noticed the date not moving from the 9th to the 10th. Cautiously, I tried to manually set the date, but the date would try to move the 10th but revert back to the 9th.

Everything else seems to work fine and the timekeeping is accurate. I'll be taking it back to the AD for service, but wanted to see if anyone ever experienced the same issues with theirs.

99% of these problems are caused by damaged teeth on the date wheel which is generally used by use of the quick set date or winding time backwards during the 8pm - 3am danger window.

That is what I'm reading and it seems like the previous owner could have done the damage. I do remember the "Hours of Death" from owning other chronographs with dates.

Thanks for your quick, insightful response!
