my wife bought me the above watch for my birthday. it is second hand but appears legit. need some help with the settings. the time and date are wrong. can anyone help explain what each button does and how to set the time and date to the appropriate settings. this is my first "nice watch" and hope to make it last but will certainly be going for a brand new B when i can afford it! thanks for the help guys.

I'm guessing it isn't just a Superocean as that has only one "button" (Crown). If it has a crown and pushers at 2 and 4 then iy is either a Chrono Superoecean or Superocean Heritage Chrono. Post a pic!!!

Unscrew the crown and pull all the way out(second click). Advance (do not reverse) the time until you are not between 8:00 and 3:00. Push crown in all the way. Pull it out to first click. Turn to set date for date before today, pull crown out to second click and advance time until date chages to today's date and set the time mindful of being in pm or am.

The 2:00 pushers starts and stops the chrono (stop watch). 4:00 resets. The chrono is the stop watch feaure for keeping track of elapsed time. The big center second hand is NOT the regular second hand - it's the chrono/stop watch second hand.

Hello and welcome! First question for you is, when you say buttons I assume there are three (2 pushers, and 1 crown) on the right side making your watch a chronograph, or is there only the crown on the right side. Either way the most important thing to establish quickly is to never change the date or reverse the time in the danger zone (between 9pm and 3 am) as this can severely damage the watch. Many threads on this subject if you search. Best suggestion I have read regarding this is to advance time (turning crown on the 3rd position counterclockwise) to 6:30 which is never in the danger zone, then advance the date ( clockwise 2nd position on the crown) to the date prior to the actual date, then advance time noting when the date changes, indicating midnight. then advance time to proper time (am or pm). SO now to the crown and stem. Turn screw down crown counterclockwise to release. this is position 1 where you will manually wind the watch in the clockwise rotation. Pull crown out 1 click, this is position 2 and is used to set quick date change by rotating in clockwise direction. pull crown 1 more click and this is position 3 where you set time in counterclockwise rotation. Hope this helps. There will soon be replies by many more knowledgeable people who will correct me where I am wrong and will be able to fill you in on the pushers if you have a chrono. Good luck and definitely enjoy! :lingsrock:

edit: Sharkman you beat me to the draw.... Good Form!

EDITED to correct below mentioned goof

OOps  Me too apparently. In my post I wrote incorrectly position 3 changes date. Actually position 3 changes the time.
