I don't know what the hell I was thinking. I accidentally advanced my Super Avenger's date several times around 8:40pm. For some reason, I though the window was 9pm to 2am, then when I checked the owner's manual, I found it was actually 8pm to 2am. I manually advanced the watch to midnight to check date change functionality. The date starts to move around 11:15pm and changes around 11:55pm. How do I know if I've damaged the calendar wheel? Has anyone ever incurred damaged and have had to have their watch repaired? What did it cost you?

Thanks in advance!

if your watch still runs fine and you did not feel any restriction, i would say you are good to go, but just be carefull next time.

The timing and duration of the date change you describe is just fine. You're ok.

What I would suggest you do is try using the quickset date (OUTSIDE OF THE DANGER TIME OF COURSE!) and advance it through an entire month of date changes one at a time. As long as every date is central to the date window when it fully clicks over, and as long as the date still changes correctly on it's own at 11:55, then you are probably fine.

(The reason to go through an entire month is to ensure that no teeth on the date-change cogs are damaged).

The 8 to 3 warning in the manual has a built in 'safety margin'. In reality the real risk is approximately 9 to 2, but follow the steps that Driver8 suggested and if all is well then you'll be fine.
