First off I want to thank Roffensian for welcoming me to the online world of BreitlingSource along with Sharkmouth for responding to my post and everyone who took some time to check out my post.

But here I go again asking for some more help (Damn Newbie!!). I was wondering if any one knows a trustworthy horologist, preferably in or near San Diego or LA if possible, to service and repair my Breitling Navitimer A38022. I need him/her to order 1 metal cap for one of the the adjuster buttons in case I can't find one on my own as well as remove the old strap and dial and slap on new ones.

So far I've found the same exact blue dial for my navitimer on ebay for $165. Can anyone tell me if thats a good deal?

I'm surprised how excited I am about fixing my watch and making it look and work the way Willy Breitling meant for it to when he made the first Navitimer more than half a century ago. Thanks in advance for your knowledgable responses.

Breitling list authorised repair centres on their website - http://www.breitling.com/en/index.php#/ ... h-america/

In California it's JD Watchworks in San Francisco who have a good reputation.

I know a trustworthy watchmaker in Dana Point. Not sure hes necessarily Breitling specific but very honest and very VERY careful with his repair work. I had him adjust/re-align the big second hand on my brand new TW Steel and I got the watch back in the EXACT same condition...i.e. Not a scratch or nick on it. After that I knew I wouldn't go anywhere else for out of warranty watch repairs. If you want his info, PM me.

But if he's not authorised to work on Breitling then......

1) He can't get Breitling parts
2) Breitling will either refuse to touch the watch afterwards or charge extra to undo the unathorised work

My bad...I thought this guy had (or was getting) parts on ebay and just needed someone trustworthy to put them in. Also, the way he was talking i thought his watch was older and way out of any warranty period. He never said "authorized" in his initial post...just trustworthy near San Diego or Los Angeles which San Francisco is not. Anyways my bad...was just trying to help out a fellow So Cal resident.

@ Aosito1:

Im sure any authorized dealer in your area can send your watch to an authorized repair center. Seriously doubt if theyll let you bring in your own parts to swap though. Anyways good luck with your Navitimer.

I would recommend JD watchwork. I sent my colt to Julius for a complete service, and the final price including shipping was 265 USD.
