Hi Guys, I love forums, I'm a member of a few (RIBS - RC Trucks - Knives / Guns - Sailing - Mountain Biking - Jeeps) etc as I fully appreciate the value fellow enthusiasts can bring to the table (most of the time). I've owned an Emergency Mission, Super Avenger and now a Chronospace which I am about to pick up later today (silver face, Steel and Ocean Racer II straps) however, I just read an article advising that the 5 atm of the watch means it is capable of little more than a "dive in at the deep end of my local swimming pool" - can this be true of such a timepiece ? I had never considered this issue beofre given the EM and SA both aclaim 30 mtr plus durability. I', now a little concerned that I must be weary of anything more than a casual swin in a hotel pool. That said, I have no plans to take up Scuba however, when on holiday one often attempt to "reach the bottom" which inevitably is deeper than the average pool ? I look forward to your comments. |

stay away from the water with 5am!!! btw, it's unbelievable that an expensive watch and new model like the Chronospace is just 5am.... this sucks. |

Ratings are based on static water pressure, any movement will decrease the effective depth rating. This should help - http://www.breitlingsource.com/articles ... ance.shtml Anything more than surface swimming is going to be risky with a 50m watch because of the effective water pressure created by the movement of the watch through the water. |
