It is REAL Breitling all right. It was produced in 1980. I shall take some photos later. Please check -

You don't see a lot of those around these days. Nice one.
In terms of the battery, I can only suggest a trip to your local AD, or give your nearest Breitling Maintenance / Service Centre a call. (You can find the number on www.Breitling.com.

Your Prime Service Centre in Canada is -

Grigoros Canada
40 Hayden Street
Toronto
M4Y 1V8

Tel +1 (416) 595 1900

If they are anything like the Breitling UK they will be very VERY helpful. Give them a call.

That is exactly my point John, it is a vintage classic. Why not put it to work as long as I find the battery for it.

I did take a look, can't find anything, but I suspect that Breitling will be able to.

As has been said, Grigoros is the maintenance centre for Canada, but that is actually the same company as La Swiss. So if La Swiss is your AD, go and see them and wither Grigoros or Breitling should be able to identify battery type.

Thank you for your inquiry.
Please be advised that the Breitling World watch is equipped with 4
individual movements. The batteries used for the watch are 3x Renata 317
and 1x Renata 321. Please let us know if you have any additional
questions.

Best regards,

Margaret Pawlak

That makes sense as if it was just one battery, it would only last a quarter of its usual time!

as they say, if in doubt, ask the maker

I still think its a great watch...any more photos?

Hey John,
Please check this. However, look out for the leather buckle, it is not Breitling Original. It should come with a Breitling logo.
