Post subject: | Super Avenger Winder Issue |
I have both a Super Avenger and a Navitimer World. Since the World is my favorite, the Avenger spends most of its time in the winder. My issue is it seems to run VERY slow (running several hours behind) after being on the winder for maybe a month. When I do wear it, it seems to hold the time within COSC standards. I currently have my winder set for 600 revolutions per day, I believe just clockwise, but I would have to check that. I have noticed that even when I take it out of the winder, after it has "lost" time, the second hand is still turning. Any thoughts? Also is there any other information or things I could try to more helpfully narrow down the issue? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. |

Give it a full wind, up the TPD to 800 and see how it does then. All my watches a "supposed" to require 650 TPD, but I noticed some would run down. Upping it to 800 has kept them all running full. If the SA isn't getting enough TPD then it may well be running down to a stop and then just getting little boosts each time winder turns. Befroe you do that, wind it manually 40 cranks and set it down to test the power reserve - it should be 40-42 ours before it stops. |

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give that a try. I did fully wind it before I put it on the winder, but you certainly have a good point. If you don't see me repost all went well. So thanks Shark. |

It's not running slow at all - it's running down and stopping for the reasons that Sharkman identified. It's then getting a boost when the winder cycles on which keeps it running for a while and then it stops again. |

Thanks to both of you for getting back so quickly. Beyond the fact you both know a lot more than I do, your conclusion makes a lot of sense. Appreciate the help. |
