Took my Aerospace to Breitling for battery change and they are recommending to do more....crystal replacement, refinish case & crown surface, lubrication, dial replacement, hands replacement, complete service totaling well over $600
The watch is in very good condition and I do not feel and need to do these replacements now, I only need the battery change (and gaskets replacet if worn) but Breitling answer is complete service or nothing, not even battery change.
Has anyone experienced this kind of behavior from Breitling, is this normal.
What should I do?

I guess they are 'in the know' so their attitude is probably "we wont do half a job".

Bit annoying i know ! , maybe look to get it done elsewhere ?

Breitling is not in hte habit of recommending work that isn't necessary and a watch should be serviced every 5 - 7 years - even a quartz.

Crystal is the one thing that would ordinarily be optional unless the integrity of the case is at risk.

They are doing it to take your money away.

A watchmaker can change the battery on an Aerospace for $20 or so. No need to get it done by Breitling.

Having said that, I would have the recommended work done if I like the watch and intend to keep it.

Almost identical situation happened with me. Took my wife's calisto to a local AD for battery replacement. Watch was only about two years old. They couldn't open up the back, so they had to send it to Breitling. I got the same response as you, approximately $600 or nothing. We ended up taking it to Tourneau in Las Vegas on a trip. They replaced the battery while we waited.

Not sure is Breitling Europe doing the same, but for Breitling USA this is one and only reason that makes you regret owning a Breitling watch.

How old is the watch?
