I have always wanted to have a Breitling (for years) and finally tried on a COLT GMT with Professional II band the other day. Absolutely loving it! One gorgeous watch, especially for a small wrist like mine. The only thing I regret was that I was in a hurry to head to the airport and didn't buy it.

After reading some of your posts, it seems like the COLT GMT is a great watch, except one of you had mentioned about his watch just stopped working after 5 days, despite winding. Could anyone comment on how common this is?

I live in Dallas. Is there an AD or reputable dealer someone can recommend in the Dallas area?

I have been seeing Breitling watches posted on some internet sites. Is it a must to buy it from one of those AD on the official breitling website?

Lastly, but most importantly, what would you suggest as a fair price for a brand new COLT GMT from an AD? afterall, is the price at AD negotiable at all?

Thanks for your comments in advance and sorry for the long list of questions. It is just that this is my first breitling and I really don't want to ruin the experience. All my other high-end watches are gift so I don't really know the process (possible negotiations) with any AD.

Bryan

Unfortunately you just caught the price increase, so your watch will cost more than it did last month... however, if you go to an AD, and the watch is something they've had in stock since before the price increase, they may be able to cut you a deal. This is liekly your best bet. Most online sellers have converted to the new prices as far as I know... but their prices are generally a bit lower.

Stick to the trusted online sellers in the Feedback section of the site and you will be okay, though there are many others that are reliable they are not included in the list because we do not have multiple users having dealt with the company.

Gday bryanp,

That was me with the problem Colt GMT. What happened to it, I don't know???
I took it to the AD and they sent it off to Sydney. I rang the service centre because I really wanted my watch back. The guy told me he had serviced it and it was on its way back. He said there was nothing to report on it. So I'm puzzled but I am very happy.

Same as you, I don't have a big wrist but this Colt with the siver face is just beautiful and is happily keeping time very nicely.

Buy your Colt, you'll love it.

Cheers
Dave
