Hi

A quick question for the B-1 owners.

Just got mine today & the bezel seems to be loose - there is a little radial play (clockwise & anticlockwise) and also axial play (moves from side to side top to bottom & lifts away from the case). We're talking fractions of an inch here but it's not something I've come across on any other watch so thought the best thing to do is ask the experts.

Apart from that am loving the big beast so far - 1/2 an hour - and will post some pics with various straps on return from my hols.

Cheers guys (& gals) - I know someone will have the answer.

My B1 and both B2's were like that a bit.. its because of the pinion gear system. Interestingly though, my Motors and Motors T did not do that and they have the same pinion system. Perhaps made to better tolerances?

worry not simon, they are all like that, mine included...due to the gearing system between outer bezel and inner sliderule bezel

Thanks Admin & John

Hoped it was normal but wanted to be sure as I would need to point out any defects straight away.

I love this watch already - as does Mrs B B - and hope I don't annoy too many people on the flight tomorrow when I'm reading the destruction book and making it 'beep' all the time.

Bliss

This is normal (of course within the acceptable range of Breitling, which should give a very fine loose movement) reason being, there has to be space for surrounding atmospheric changes. Imagine if the pinion was exactly tight and now you go to a place of a very high temperature, with the parts expanding your bezel will be stuck, but now and thanks to the initial loose bezel, any expansion in the parts because of a hot weather should not block your normal bezel movement.
