Hello folks,

I have a Breitling for Bentley motors. It has an aftermarket diamond bezel. There are 4 little screws (top, bottom, left and right).

I wanted to remove the bezel so can clean it, specifically the diamonds in my cleaning solution. Is it as easy as removing the 4 screws cleaning it and then mounting it and reinstalling the 4 screws? Is it difficult to re-attach the bezel, or is there any fitting I would have to do? Or would it be fine.

I don't want to attempt this myself if it is going to make my life miserable, lol. Anyone know what the size flathead it would use?

Thanks for help,

The Bentleys can be a bit fiddlier because of the gearing, but yes, loosen the screws (don't remove them entirely) and the bezel will come off. I believe that a Bergeon 160 (1.6mm) fits these.

Yes it is simply a case of undoing those screws and the bezel will pop off.

Two words of caution though -

Firstly, don't undo the screws all the way out as they are a pain to get back in.

And secondly, the Bentley models have a gearing system under the bezel, so you need to be a little careful when reseating it. I'd also go careful when removing it to make sure nothing from the gearing drops out.

My disclaimer is that I've never personally removed a Bentley bezel, but I've removed a few of the Aeromarine bezels in the past and apart from the gearing, they are pretty similar. That said, I have heard of some people that prefer to get an AD to do that kind of thing, but I also know of some who are happy to do it themselves.

In terms of the screwdriver size, I'm not sure. I have a set of Bergeons and just used whatever one fitted whenever I've taken a bezel off, and not paid attention to the specific size.

EDIT - I'd alraedy typed this but Roff beat to the posting!
