So I was winding my colt auto a17350, been a couple days since I wore it, and as I was winding it seemed to slip. It made a clicking sound. I wound a few more times and the same thing. The date still changes, and the time stops when I pull he crown all the way out, but what the heck is going on here. I know what my gut is telling me but just want to see what you guys think. |

Well if it feels like it's slipping when winding then it's probably slipping. The most likely place would be the castle gear. It's probably not going to get better and probably means a service. |

Crud. Would that be apart of a regular service? |

Parts costs shouldn't be much - you'll have the cost of the service at published rates but if it's a castle gear and maybe a wheel or two in the keyless works it will only be about $50 in parts I would imagine. |

If your local AD has a watchmaker on premises, I would get them to take a look at it. It sounds to me like the setting lever is loose and is not holding the stem in the proper position. It might be nothing more than a loose screw. However, I would not continue to wind it by the crown. You can make a simple problem worse. |
