First off this site is a god send. I will admit finally decided to get up off of the mid grade watches and am going to purchase my first true quality watch in the next year. After much review and comparing watches I have decided my first few will be Breitlings as there is just something about them I like. I have talked to two guys I know from my local cigar shop who are watch folks and one especially who has probably 20 - 30 of them. They both recommended that if I decide to purchase a vintage or used watch that I check it out and verify it. They had great references for how to do this with Rolex's and IWC's but little on Breitlings outside of find an authorized dealer which is becoming harder in my area. Does anyone know of any Breitling approved ways of verifying them outside of taking them to an AD? I have read most of the info in the spotting a fake forum but I would like to be as armed as possible in making this type of purchase. In addition I'm also a little nervous about it as we know someone who actually purchased a fake Rolex which came with fake papers, box and all which looked rather legit. So I'm a little scared of just trusting receiving them at this point.
