Anyone have a recommended method for caring for leather straps? I live in tropical Africa and I can already tell my strap will need some TLC... |

I use the same stuff that I use for conditioning saddles. Not sure what you have available in Africa in terms of products but assume that there are some similar products available. Let me know if you need specific product names. |

I use Autoglym products designed for car leather seats. Again, not sure if you have this range in Africa, but they have a great leather cleaning product and a cream that replaces essential oils in the leather. (Disclaimer - Autoglym has worked OK for me, but I'm not guaranteeing it will for everyone. Use on your own straps entirely at your own risk!) |

It's a freebie as far as I know - I've never seen it for sale. I have had one jar of it and it seems to work pretty well, but not noticeably better than any other product and the jar is tiny. |

I hate be the one to tell you, but all the care in the world won't do a bit of good in that environment. You'll need to switch to a rubber strap, a bracelet, or in the very least a kodiak or other treated leather strap to deal with the tropics. The OEM Breitling straps are nice, but they are NO match for where you live. |
