I have a couple random questions. Do you guys clean your watches yourself and how often? I've actually never cleaned it myself, I live in Houston very close to the Galleria so I just drop it off at Torneau and ask them to clean it for me while I go eat, probably once every couple of weeks.

Also, if your watch stops while the date is in the process of changing, is that bad for it, or can you just wind it up and let it finish or adjust the date forward yourself? I got scared last night because I hadn't worn it in a day or two and it stopped right as the date was halfway out of the little window ... so I wound it up and then adjusted it forward and it seemed fine.

As far as cleaning I do it myself when they look dirty.
You are OK with the watch stopping while the date is advancing. Just simply wind it up and let it advance or you can wind time forward as you did. Just be careful not to use the quick set date function or wind it backwards.

Just to clarify......

Wind time forward if it stops while the date is changing, do not wind the date forward.

I thought you were only not supposed to wind the time/date backwards in the 8pm-3am rule? I keep forgetting exactly what it is.

If the date is changing it is between 8:00pm and 3:00am.

Oh ok, I can never remember. So if it's between 8pm and 3am, don't touch the date, and don't move the time backwards, but you can move the time forward. So when you wind the time forward and the date changes by itself, that's fine?

In regards too Cleaning, ive spent an hour this even cleaning my Chronomats both are 2 Tone, Step 1 i use a Dremel on low speed with a cloth buffing wheel, and a jewellers polish, ( actually the same products that Rolex use ) 2nd step after polishing was a dip in Jewellery cleaner for 10minutes which removes all debri's ( this doesnt affect the anti refelctive coating at all ) and step 3 wash in warm water and then cotton gloves to dry off and presto all done, i generally do this about 3 times a year.

Takes an hour for 2 watches and all sorted.
