Hi all,
I'm undecided between two 24 hours model, the Cosmonaute with automatic Breitling 22 mouvement and the limited edition 1000 pz Chrono-Matic 24LH. I like to know any impressions and opinion about this watches and also price indications. I have find two like new occasions, the first 2000€ and the 2nd 2500€.

I like them both and getting hold of a 24hr watch is somewhere on my "would like" list too! :)

Due to the slightly larger size and the limited edition nature of the Chrono-matic then I'd say it just edges it over the Cosmo. However both are pretty cool, and the Cosmo certainly has that classic Navitimer look.

Hi Speedmaster,

Ultimately it's down to personal preference. I think they're both great watches. My own preference is the Chrono-Matic (so I bought one last week).

The Chrono-Matic is slightly bigger in diameter and marginally heavier. I particularly like the quirkiness of having a left crown and getting something that is a limited edition production. I also wanted something that was very different in looks from my other Breitlings.

However, I do particularly like the white sub-dials on the Cosmonaute, whereas on the 24h C-M they're black.

I can't help much on price as I don't know if the figures you've got are for new or used. I've seen others say that in the UK a good pre-owned piece will be about 60% of retail. You might find the limited edition models to be a bit higher than that, if the demand is there.

I know Roffensian just picked up a Cosmonaute. Perhaps he'll give you his initial thoughts on that.

Happy shopping!

Nick

Well I'm kinda biased being the proud new papa of a DB Cosmo, so I have to say that you can't beat the classic look of that piece.

And if we can persuade Admin to create a log for a 24 hour dial club as suggested in another thread, then another member would be great!!

Hi all,
thanks for your support
Also for me they're both beautiful watches. I don't know what to do...
The watches are both of 2007 and the Chrono-matic is like new, with plastic cover on the bottom.

I agree with you on the new look of the Cosmonaute but the prices of the vintage are prohibitive, especially the AOPA, here in italy are scarce.
I'm also tried to find a first '90 Cosmonaute with manual mouvement but I have found only one without original warranty.

I looked at number 518 of 1000 of the special edition of the Chrono-matic. WOW! I wanted it, do to the unique nature and look of the watch. The numerials, the date at the traditional 6 oclock position which is also the 24 position on this watch. The bezel caught my eye as did the stem on the left side. Very very unique and beautiful watch. I had the owner price it for me and I just could not justify over $4k for a new watch. I wanted it, I like it over everything else I looked at today, and I looked at a lot. The special edition is the watch to get in my opinion based on the prices you list above. My humble opinion.

@Eagle

Great watch and fantastic photos.

Just been looking at your work. Very impressed with the typography! Are the fonts also hand drawn?
