Hi,

I've never owned a chronograph before and only noticed the other day that the sweeping second sub dial on my cosmo is not synced/slaved to the minute hand. What is the best way to set the time with these watches so the minute crosses exactly when the sweeping second goes past 60?

It's an effort in futility because it won't stay synched due to play in the movement, but you will need to pull the crown out exactly as the second hand is at 60, adjust the minute hand so that it is exactly on the minute, adjust the play in hte minute hand so that you are right on the point of moving the minute hand forward (you'll see what I mean when you do it - there is movement of the crown before the minute hand moves), and then push the crown in exactly square - i.e. no rotation of the crown as you push it in.

Yeah, I forgot that it doesn't hack. There's no way to do it reliably then with a non hacking movement, I wouldn't hold the movement using the crown.

if you merely want to sync the minute hand to the second hand (and not the second handto someting like the atomic clock), pull the crown out and keep adjusting the minute hand back while the second hand heads towards "60," then just before it gets there move the minute hand slightly to the correct minute marker. It's not hard to do at all though you may have to practice it a couple times.

same problem here, i'm unable to sync the minute hand with the second hand, the best sync i achieve was advancing the minute hand too match with the play in the movement, but it's not perfect.

cheers
