Hi fellas,

I've just purchased a Superocean A17340 2nd hand and wanted to know how much Breitling U.K would charge for a service??

Image

Has anyone out there had there's done?

Do they completely refurb the watch while it's there and replace any parts needed and include that in the price??

Regards

Steve

I've not had an SO serviced before, but based on other pieces I'm guessing a full service will rush you for about £250 - £300. For that they will completely refurb the case/bracelet and clean/service the movement. However, if certain parts over and above what they'd normally replace at a service also need replacing, they will charge you extra. (Imagine you needed a whole new movement, that obviously wouldn't be included in the price of a service). Give BUK a call, tell them anything that you know will need replacing (for example, like the cystal if it's chipped, etc) and they'll be able to give you a quote over the phone (obviously minus any internal replacement parts requred).

Hi, I paid Breitling UK £231 for a overhaul of my Wings and £280 for a Chronomat towards the end of last year, so i guess Driver 8 is correct . Probably nearer £230 without subdials. Both came back as brand new. There is a Coral Dial on ebay.uk for this model. £59.00 should you wish to join the coral club :D

Thanks fellas, so around the £200-£250 mark then.

There's no paperwork with this watch, does it come back with any from Breitling to say what's been done?? Im just thinking of the future in case i come to sell it to put towards anything new.

It varies from country to country in terms of what you get, so wait for a UK response, but you should get a breakdown of what's done - like a detailed bill, plus you get a 1 year warranty.

I had my B-2 recently serviced by BUK for £150!

After reading all the shocking stories of £500+ I'm very pleased

I feel ripped off now! Only kidding, just got mine back today for £230, which I was happy with. It's the earlier model, and looks great now it's had a full overhaul. Big thumbs up to BUK who did it in 5 weeks. :lingsrock: I might opt for my SuperOcean to be done in the next few months - would be interested in maybe going to coral, but I really can't make my mind up. Do they charge a huge amount more for that - I'm guessing the cost of the dial (if they still have them) plus the change of course. Any ideas?

Cheers

The blue dial on my Headwind became loose and started spinning round in the case last year - Was told by an AD in Nottingham (Berry's) I'd need a new dial and the obligatory full service - a total of £420.00 which I was obviously over the moon about !!!!.....considering it was less than 4 yrs old and not an everyday "Beater" so to speak.

So I enquired about a different colour dial ( My thinking was if i've got to have a new dial, I'll have a different colour - oooh do Breitling know how to charge!!! - an Extra £215.00 for a silver dial and an Extra £400 for a black dial. Opted reluctantly to go with the silver dial (in for a penny.....etc) and was very pleased with the result but not exactly doing cartwheels about the price !!!

I have since been informed by staff @ Andrew Michaels' that as the Headwind is a discontinued model Breitling should have replaced the dial for free and sent the old one back to Switzerland even though it was out of warranty.......Guess who's getting my business from now on - The watch came back in wonderful condition - but that's not the point ! Anyone living close to Newark in Nottinghamshire needs to go and check out this AD - Amazing stock level and the ultimate in in customer service!!

Good to see you've found a decent AD Rob......when did you get a look at them??

I've got to comment on Polenzo's headwind......it looks absolutely superb!! I saw it when he fetched it from Berry's in Nottingham and although it was pricey it certainly did look the part.

Not bothered having the Superocean serviced as i've sold it on already as i didn't think it would be getting any wrist-time now i've just bought a Super Avenger.

My opinion of Breitling has reached a new low

Since I was not prepared to pay £700 to get my watch face realigned by Breitling I asked for it to be returned

Got it back toady and watch face, which was only slightl misaligned, is now rotated 270 degrees and the hinges of its box are broken

Trust them to fix a watch when they cant even keep a box in one piece?
You must be kidding
