I have a Chronomat on my double winder that keep it wound perfect for me. 100% happy with the settings so won't bore you with that.. Now the issue is the Chronomat is set to wind CW only which is correct (CW) but I have a new SO bought and was wondering, given the the B17 calibre winds both directions, is it ok wind the SO in one direction only, that been CW as the B17 winds both directions or would that harm the movement in any way as it only be getting wound in one direction(CW)? ? ? So put simply is it OK to wind the B17 Constantly in one direction? Wrist time will be very limited as I rotate my watches and due to work only ware them socializing or put another way drinking!!! ![]() |

Yes, it winds fully in either direction - doesn't need to wind both ways. |

Ok. So its no harm to wind it only one direction. Give that I think that the Chronomat is 650tpd and the SO is 800tpd, any harm to up, and in the process over wind the chronomat, to 800tpd? ![]() |

No - perhaps some virtually unmeasurable wear. |

It's actually the other way round - SO is 650, Chronomat is 800. As has been said (and said in previous threads) both just means either. In reality 800tpd on a winder vs. 650 needed is going to be less than if the watch was worn so it's completely irrelevant. I've been thinking about tyring to write a 'definitive' guide to watchwinders, I'll try and find the time. |

So it is always better to set the winder to make axtra turns. |
