Hi,

I am new to the forum, so this is my first post. I have a Super Chrono Avenger on a bracelet [my first Breit]. I am interested in getting a winder for it I know that the B13 states clockwise rotaton for 800 turns. I was curious if there are decent winders [not too expensive] that some could recommend to me.

It may sound dumb but for some reason I am concerned about excessive abbrasions in the bracelet, so I am looking for a winder that has enough room for the SCA to be comfortable, and enough oomph to rotate it without fear of wearing out the rotatoe motor too quickly

This should help:

http://breitlingsource.com/phpBB2/viewt ... ht=garinin

I still have it and still enjoy it.

BTW.. Someone correct me if I am wrong but I think the B13 only winds counter clockwise.

Based on prior posts I was considering that winder...looks like it will work for me. I appreciate the advice

I have a single watch Wolf Designs winder and it is awesome. So freakin quiet you cant hear it running unless you put your ear up to it and it does both directions separately or both directions together. It also has electronics in it for "rest periods" (meaning it doesnt run non-stop) and allows your watch to unwind its main spring.

Check into winders with these features. I wouldnt think of strapping my watches on a cheap continuous winder. And some of the cheap eBay winders spin really fast. At my AD I was able to get my winder for $75. But keep in mind it is branded for their store (who cares) and I was buying 2 Breitlings at the same time. Still the retail price was $175, so still fairly reasonable and I will be buying another when I get another watch.

Thanks Scott!

I was looking at a Wolf, but read somewhere that some models have trouble with larger/heavier pieces. Otherwise they have an amazing reputation at low[er] prices.

Luckily I am still in the start of this quest. Right now I am thinking that I would get the dual tower to start...then maybe grab a Wolf. I certainly have enough automatics [both cheap and pricey] to fill in the holes

Several great winders out there. Many have multiple wind settings.

Example: http://www.watchwinderstore.com/ers.htm

Hello again,

Thank you so much for all of the information so far. I am leaning, right now ,towards one of the Garinin dual towers, based on favorable reviews & comments...we'll see how it goes and then from there the sky's the limit. [probably a Wolf Designs next, I'm gonna crawl before I walk on this one]

Upon searching for one I noticed that when searching "Garinin" on Amazon a dual tower winder that looked like the Garinin and had the same features came up called "Belocia". Am I to guess that its the same winder with a different name?

Would I be better off simply ordering from Garinin.com?

Thanks again!

Not meaning to hijack your post, Craig, but does anyone know of a UK supplier for the Garinins?

Thanks.

I have just bought one off eBay for $74.99 delivered to Scotland. It doesn't say Garinin on it, but it looks exactly the same as the Dual Winder as posted on the blog. I'll post photos when it arrives, think it's coming on a slow boat from China

Give Official Time watch winders a look too. I use a 6 way that is very similar in design to Rapport models but was a fraction of the cost, and so far has proved more reliable! It's fully programmable with clockwise, counter-clockwise or alternating cycles, and spins at a nice slow and sensible speed! They also come in less traditional (ie less "old man" ) colours! Mine for example is in lacquered grey oak. Looks pretty cool and works a treat.

Thanks, Driver.

They do look a lot "cooler" than most!

Can you tell me how they are for noise/hum? I need something very quiet as I'll be keeping it in the bedroom.

Thanks,

Nick
