I was given a B1 and the watch didnt work. I took it to a watch repair shop and they told me the LED screen is warped and has shrunk, and the plastic gears inside are warped too. They said it was probably by a hair dryer or left on/in something hot. Im thinking the seal leaked and they tried to dry it out. All this needs to be replaced to get this beast working. It is genuine according to this shop, and Ben Bridge jewelers. Anyone have suggestions? Sell it as a non working? Fix it? Please help!!

Thank You!!

You could always contact your local Breitling service center and find out what it would cost to fix. Then make a call.

I have an online service looking into it for me. Im hoping it wont be too much to fix. I know its pretty much worthless the way it is right now.

I was shown the inside and was could see the breitling markers. Plus I took it to a store that sells Breitling and they said it was authentic.

Post some pics of the watch then we can see what it looks like and judge for ourselves.

I found out that it DOESNT have plastic gears inside it. The watch repairman was wrong. I took it to Ben Bridge (they only authenticated it) and had it inspected and they agreed it was over heated cause the LED screen is warped. I dont know if it is worth fixing, or sell it for parts?

Can you afford a new LED? It's a very solid instrument when working correctly.

Im sure I can, but I havent been given an estimate yet. Everyone says they will call me with a repair price, but I havent received a call back yet.

Finally got a quote for repair. $449.00 for the overhaul, and $315.00 for the LED. Another $150 if I want the dial restored to new. Dont know if its worth fixing.

For less than $1000, you will have a watch in VERY good condition that is likely to last you years to come, and as you said you got it free I believe, you are still WAY ahead of buying a new one yourself! I say do it!

If not, give it to me and I will! :cheer:

Im going to fix it it seems. Selling it for parts may only get me $500 if that, so it seems more worth it to just fix it.
