Post subject:  Montbrillant Datora - setting time on 24 hr dial?

I recently purchased a used Navitimer Montbrillant Datora. The watch didn't come with the owners manual (seller said his wife threw it in the trash :( )

I spent a lot of time searching but came up short. My question is, how do I set the time on the 24 hour dial? So far everything I have found has been clear as mud.

Thanks,
Wayne

:welcome:

I'm sure others will correct me if I'm wrong but I think the 24 hour sub-dial is linked directly to the main hour hand and can't be adjusted.

If you contact Breitling, I believe you can purchase a replacement manual.

Wayne,

I have the same watch. The 24hr as mentioned before my post... You would set your main hour hand and if the 24 is wrong, so just adjust the hour hand clockwise back to the time you already had and your 24hr will be correct.

Also, the small tool that come with the watch, and I hope the guy sold you his watch when his wife sold everything... You use that tool to adjust the month. A local breitling AD could probly help you to figure to get anything you're missing, and adjusting it too.

Also, as I've learned... Never adjust the time between 9pm-4am around because at 12am the watch moves to the next day which could hurt it. It's a good thing.

So atleast the watch didn't get thrown away too. ;)

Thanks guys!

Unfortunately all I got was the watch. The selling price was in my favor so I cannot complain much.

I found after placing the watch in my auto winder for a few days, the 24 hour sub-dial synced with the hands on the main dial. I really had not noticed (researched) before purchasing this watch that the 24 hour dial could not be set at an independent time. I would venture a guess an Omega Speedmaster day/date would work similarly.

And if you need to change the month, just use a fine tip ball point pen or similar implement - it will work just fine.

You mean the date? You shouldn't wind the time backwards between those times, but winding forward is no problem.
