I just received my first Breitling, a Colt automatic. I notice that the crown moves in any direction a small bit when in the unscrewed position. I am wondering if a small amout of play is normal. Thanks for the help

It's perfectly normal.

For the different parts of the keyless works to be able to move relative to one another there has to be some play - otherwise the parts would bind and you wouldn't be able to wind the watch.
