Hey guys, i've just got my breitling superocean and i have a question to ask.. how many turns do you need until the crown screw in ? If you see the picture u can see that there is a little gap between the crown and the body, does it mean i didnt screw it tight enough ? i know i should stop when i feel some resistance but i just cant feel it =/. What if i over screw the crown ?

It usually only takes 2 or 3 finger movements. Can't tell from the photo but you have to hold the crown in as you turn it. If it keeps turning then it's not screwing down. |

Roff beat me to it... Good thing since he's much more of an expert. I only asked where it was purchased because the hour hand looked a tad short. It is probably just the angle of the picture. Best of luck! |

nightrain wrote: 3 finger movements as in 3 full turns of the crown ? No as in 3 finger movements - as if you were winding. That's generally more than one rotation of the crown when winding, but I am a little more careful when screwing the crown in so likely less. |

I see, that 3 finger movement should be enough right ? im just afraid if dont screw it tight enough it is not water resistance. |

just until it is snug, you don't need to bolt it down. There are gaskets and stuff in there that create the seal. You are likely to do more damage continually over tightening it. BTW, it looks closed to me in the pic you posted. |

A quote from my user manual, A gap of 0.05mm must be visible between case and crown as the latter's compressed gaskets form a watertight barrier.unquote. Cheers. |
