Hello fellow Lingers. I was wondering if someone could answer this question for me. Yesterday it was 100 degrees in Miami, Fl. I left my air conditioned office and went to my car. As soon as I got into car my Motors T quickly fogged up. I quickly realized that my stem was open from winding in my office a/c. I quickly stuck my hand out the window and fog dissapeared. I quickly closed the stem. The dial cleared up but I was wondering if I could of done some damage letting moisture into the case. Compare it to when your glasses fog up when you go from cold to hot. Again the dial looks fine but I am concerned. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys
Entirely possible, but probably unlikely. Just because the crystal condensation has gone doesn't mean that there isn't condensation in the movement. The only sure way to check would be to have it checked out. Either way it may be worth getting the watch pressure tested to make sure that there aren't any failed gaskets and the moisture did only get in through the unscrewed crown.
