Just wondering, do you guys cut the extra rubber from the end of the strap (w/tang buckle obviously) once you see how it fits your wrist, or is it best to leave it in the original condition?

I just don't want to damage the strap, I'm not at all concerned about affecting it's resale value.

You paid for the whole strap, don't go wasting a bit!

I'd say that you'll find it hard to find someone who cuts the extra rubber from the strap through a tang/buckle. Most people tuck this into the loops which are designed to keep the extra material from falpping around.

It's just like a belt loop - would you cut the excess material off your belt?

In all seriousness though, with the Tang Buckle I'd leave it the way it is, maybe a deployment would be different.

I cut the excess pieces from my OR deployant straps to fit.

I donate the pieces to Durex who (I'm told) recycle them. (I like to give back to the world community).

My wrist is just under 6 1/2 inches, so I tend to have a lot of flapping with non-deployment type rubber straps. I have cut a rubber strap before (not a Breitling) and it worked well. With the right shaping and polishing tools, I'm sure a jeweler could curve over the ends to make it look like you have not cut the band.

I actually have this Teno watch and the strap is way too long. It's a much cheaper rubber strap and is much stiffer than the Breitling ones. I'm either going to cut it or try looking for a good rubber deployment type strap to replace the stock one.
