With the stronger Xray machines they are utilizing in security checks at the airport - can putting your Breitling through in the trays - hurt in anyway.

Of course leaving your watch in luggage is never a good idea - very strong Xray machines and of course your watch might not be in your luggage at your destinaton.

I travel a great deal - so the second question - Can successive Xray scans have a detrimental effect over time?

As long as it's not magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), you should be okay!
