I hit the crown on my superocean and bent what looks like the stem which leads into the case. I took the watch to a authorized dealer who has an indepentant watch maker to get a quote and was told that I need a new mid case, stem, crown, and case tube. Is it common to need a new mid case? that part along is running me over $300. I just dont understand how if somone dammages the crown that they would need a whole new mid case. Any info would be greatly appreciated. The mid case is not dammaged or bent in any way its just the crown stem and i guess case tube.

Thanks

With Breitling's aeromarine range these pieces are built as integral pieces. The good news is that it keeps the cost down, the bad news is that if you damage the crown stem tube then you need a new midcase.

It's more modular construction in other ranges.
