Just got a my first Breitling two days ago (Blackbird). It looks amazing. This maybe a stupid question, but I put the watch on this morning and the sweeping second hand is stuck on 12. Is there something I need to do? Thanks for your help.

The Blackbird has a chronograph function which means the sweeping seconds (big one in the middle) hand will not go unless you've engaged the top pusher. There should be a running seconds hands on the 3 o'clock subdial.

Also, if you saw it running before and it is now stopped, it's possible that you've either stopped the chronograph or that you are out of power reserve.

If you like the look of the big hand sweeping, there's really no harm in letting the chronograph run all the time.

You push it - fairly firmly.

When it's screwed down it can't be operated, when unscrewed then it will function by pushing.

One push starts the chronograph, second push stops it and then bottom pusher resets it.

Really though, what AD lets someone walk out with a $6K+ watch without explaining the functions?!?

HEADS UP SCOOTER - check out the threads AND your manual about when NOT to change the date. Chances are no one explained that to you either.

Yeh OK that was a bit cruel - sorry. Bit of a hangover after far too mucho ooozo last night.

But please do read it, you have a wonderful watch and it would be a great shame to break it.
