Post subject: | Blackbird question |
Hi all, I don't know if I should post my question here anyway, but please correct me if I'm wrong ... ![]() I have been working for serveral years now and since I have been raised in a horlogic crazy family, I recently decided to buy me my frist Breitling : a Blackbird - polished steel with blue dial. The watch has been ordered and I managed to get myself a nice discount on it. On this forum I saw that this type is in top 5 replica's but I don't really see much differences. Could anyone please explain what I really need to check ? I expect to have the watch by the end of June so can't post any pics atm. Thx for your help guys. Nice to know : I can have the watch checked before I need to pay for it. Deep inside I know it isn't a fake but investing +5k for the first time .... ![]() |

Where did you order it from? There are many online sites that are reliable and most of them are known here. |

For my first Breitling I went to an AD. Very few fakes in those days but they are so 'good' now. If 'time' is in your family ask them to help. |

One question..A blackbird with a blue dial? I think they only come with black dials. So., if it is a Blackbird with blue dial it is a fake. Secondly, buy from an AD unless you are absolutely sure you can distinguish between a real and a fake. |

There is a black eyed blue Blackbird, and there have also been previous special editions with blue dials. If you ordered the watch from an AD then it's real. If not, then let us know who you ordered it from and we can offer some thoughts. There is a very good Blackbird fake, Sharkmouth has pictures on his site - http://f4buz.com/watches/breitling/fakes/top10.html The date window is the biggest difference between the real and the fake. |
