I haven't worn my navitimer world for a few days so it stopped. Today I put it on and I tried to adjust the date, initially I thought I set it up to today (25th) but I made a mistake to move it to 26th. I then wound up the watch (about 35-40 turns as I have read about before) and it was working fine. Now I just tried to get the date right; I know that I need to keep on turning it over to 27...28...29...etc. and back to 25 (as it only goes forwards not backwards). Unfortunately when I do this it seems to be 'stuck' between 26 and 27, it turns about half way then it skips back to 26... Another peculiar thing -- if I try to wind it even half turn I encounter great resistance... Thoughts on what could be the problem? Thanks! |

Sorry to sound ignorant but I don't even know all the features of this watch. All I ever set was the date, the right time, and wound it up. Is the date setting supposed to work both forwards and backwards? THanks! |

So -- I never realized that the date cannot be changed between 10 PM and 2 AM. The watch was stopped this morning (don't remember on what time); I put it on and within the next 15 mins it started working. The time and the date were *both* wrong. I changed them both (time was around 6:15 AM) and then wound up the watch... Could this have lead to the problem of changing the date? Does it get damaged the same way if the watch was stopped? Thanks! |

Guys sorry for being a dumba$$... I just pulled the crown out all the way and turned it through the 12 position (had to go around twice) and the date changed as it should. Does this mean there's a chance I did *not* damage the watch earlier? |

It's possible that the watch will be OK, try using the quick set date to advance the date through a full month now - making sure that the indicated time is not between 8pm and 3am, if it works without problems and the date is centred properly in the window then it will likely be OK. |

Thanks! That worked great, and I'm back to the right day (25th). One more question -- the only issue I'm encountering now is that if I try to wind-up the watch with the crown in the innermost position (the default location) I get quite a little resistance. Could it be that I wound it up too much (I thought 30-40 turns was ok). I'll leave it off my hand tonight and for the next few days to see if it unwinds (I don't even know if that's the right term)... Here's hoping I didn't break anything major! |

You can't overwind an automatic watch so no danger there. It's difficult to interpret whetherthe resistance that you are feeling is normal, but it will be harder to turn the crown when winding (crown against the case) than when setting. |
