Post subject:  Is crown gold or dipped?

Hello, am brand new to BW & am considering buying a 2000 chron windrider on rolyeux bracelet, im sure i was told the winding crown was solid gold, but looking at this 1 I can see its plated. Is that normal, I know 100% its genuine.
Appreciate any advice, also any1 know what £'s a proper service from Breitling would be, the watch hasnt been serviced from new & loses about 5 mins a week, & finally is there a service centre in UK.
Many Thanks

Welcome aboard.
It's rolled gold. 20 microns (if I remember correctly) over the steel core.

Correct - 20 microns it is.

Rolled gold is different from plating as it's a laminated sheet rather than a molecular deposit.
