Hi folks,

What would you pay for a second hand, but brand new, Montbrillant Olympus? I am looking at one which is literally 3 weeks out of the AD, mint cond., being resold as it is an unwanted gift. Retail is NZ$12,800, this watch will probably go for c.NZ$7,000.

What is the right price here?

Thanks for the wisdom.

Provided it's real, has all papers and warranties, mint condition... The suggested price is probably what it should be. Maybe a little in the lower region, but if you're the buyer it's good for you.

What is the conversion from NZ$ to USD? It seems the asking price is about 40% off retail, which if all documentation is correct seems like a great deal for a 3 week old Olympus. Good luck.

The current rate is NZ$1 = US$0.7979, however we are doing very well against the USD at present. House cross rates (on which RRP are set) might be more like 0.65-0.70. Not sure what USD retail is, but in NZ terms it is c.45% discount.

So very tempting... or do I go get a new Chronomat at a standard discount?

USD retail for a SS Olympus is $7440.00 with Navitimer bracelet, $6390 with leather strap and SS tang clasp, and $6690 with croc strap and SS deployment clasp. So $7000 NZD seems very reasonable for a 3 week old watch.
Personally I'd choose the Olympus. Good luck.
