sounds like the new one is in the latest style of box, My superocean (factory built 2nd week dec 07) came in the latest big box with the nice leather travel case...It was a factory order (being a coral dial) and it arrived at the AD in Scotland Last week

perhaps the first one you had was an old stock one??
